The talented young actress Sybille regularly visits the casino in a West German spa town where she hopes to finance her studies by playing roulette. She has reached an agreement with a certain Dr. Busch whose money she gambles; in return, she receives a share of the profits. Busch, a respected lawyer, remains in the background, as gambling is unbecoming to his profession. Only later, when a journalist intervenes, does Sybille discover that Dr. Busch is exploiting her. By using her to circulate counterfeit chips, he intends to drive the casino into ruin.
