Selects #14
16 Oct 25–31 Jan 26
Film and action belong inseparably together. The camera can capture fast action or highlight the smallest gestures. And films can captivate, provoke, or inspire action. In keeping with this year’s Film Restored festival theme, our streaming program shows how manifold “action” in film can be. In this selection, it ranges from revolutions and new beginnings to political protest and thrillers that shift the tension inwards. Spectacular scenes, such as the first film adaptation of the sinking of the Titanic, as well as the invisible, demanding work of railway operators, are featured here.
