Race Symphony
‘Rennsymphonie’, GER 1928, directed by Hans Richter, 6 min, rating: 0
Off to the horse races in Berlin’s Hoppegarten! Preparations are underway, avid bettors plan their stakes on the train, and everyone files into the stands. Finally, the horses trot to the start and the race begins. Through the use of a ‘flying’ camera and Hans Richter’s editing, a breathless portrait of the races and the enthusiastic spectators is created.
