Gorleben: The Dream of Something

Der Traum von einer Sache, FRG 1981, directed by Niels Bolbrinker, Bernd Westphal, Roswitha Ziegler, 108 min, rated: 12

In the 1980s, opponents of nuclear power occupied a drilling site in Gorleben on the border to the GDR and set up camp. For thirty-three days, the Free Wendland Republic promised a non-violent utopia based on solidarity before the evacuation of the site put an end to their dream. Activists documented the events with the camera.
