FRG 1967, director: Tom Toelle

Divided Berlin

In the 1950s and 1960s, the division of Germany was regarded as a "cash poison" in the FRG and West Berlin and was avoided by commercial film production. Television filled this gap.
With his film Die Trennung Tom Toelle demonstrates the alienation between East and West, using the example of a young couple separated by the Wall, who meet again after years.
