Due to lack of jobs and any kind of cultural scene, the small village in Baranya has become deserted. Only one family remains, and an old lady called Erzsi, who has always lived in the village and wants to die there. Anti works in the timber industry and is well paid, but he is far from home. When his son Andris is admitted to a boarding school in the city and leaves home, his wife Juli feels lonely and depressed. She tries to find refuge in religious faith, but her despair grows. Increasingly confused, her life comes to a tragic end.
