3D Objects Archive

General information

Since its founding in 1963, the Deutsche Kinemathek has collected 3D objects such as props, prizes, models and mementos. Starting in 1985, former employee Rolf Giesen contributed a collection of masks, matte paintings and other artifacts related to the discipline of special effects. Some three-dimensional objects, such as the extensive travel luggage that belonged to Marlene Dietrich, are contained in bequests or personal archives, while others were acquired as individual objects based on their film-historical importance.
