Documentary film
Brest, the border station between Poland and Belarus, has a turbulent history: In 1939, the city was on the line of demarcation separating the area of Poland invaded by Germany from the Soviet zone of occupation. Shortly thereafter, it was the site where the invasion of the Soviet Union began. The station was an important hub for soldiers, refugees, asylum seekers, weapons, and goods. Historical archive material and the stories of residents and people passing through are interwoven into a traumatic narrative that reaches into the present day. Today, Brest is on the closed border with pro-Russian Belarus.
