The young couple Alfred (or Ali) and Lisa decide to part ways. For Ali in particular, the claustrophobia of their Berlin flat is unbearable. He, a car mechanic and motorcycle enthusiast, wants to be free to experiment. And so he roams Berlin, meeting friends and strangers. And Lisa? She is hurt by the separation and hopes they can get back together.
