The Kinemathek as an experience for the whole family: Visitors of all ages can explore the medium of film and its history together and even create their own films.

Please note that due to the relocation to our new premises, we are currently offering a limited program, including hands-on film workshops. Unfortunately, individual bookings are not possible at this time.

Trickfilm-Samstag (in German)

How to make an animated film? Learn it with us! In the Kinemathek’s animation workshop, children can get creative: crafting, shooting, and telling their own story through a short film.

Once a month, we invite children aged 8 to 12 to make their own films. Participation is free of charge.

Filmspielplatz

On the online platform filmspielplatz.de, there’s so much for children from preschool age to discover: we’ve curated exciting short films and provided background information to go with them. You’ll also find plenty of creative ideas for making your own films, tricks, and playful activities. And of course, there’s a dedicated section where everything is explained for parents, teachers, and educators.
