To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the declaration of the Oberhausen Manifesto, this double DVD presents 19 films from 1958‒64, in which all 26 signatories participated and which mark the beginnings of New German Cinema. The DVD edition also includes texts, documents and documentation that illuminate the social situation in 1962.

The DVD was honored as the “Best Rediscovery of a Forgotten Film in 2011-12” (Miglior riscoperta di un film dimenticato) at the “Il Cinema Ritrovato” film festival (Bologna).
