Want to re-watch your favorite detective show? Or want to enjoy one of your favorite comedy broadcasts all over again? The Mediathek Fernsehen contains roughly 13,000 selected broadcasts in their full length, including all originally broadcast episodes of the German classic detective shows ‘Tatort’ and ‘Polizeiruf 110’.

The opulent video installation in the mirror hall reflects the first fifty years of German TV history and informs about the various entertainment and informational broadcasts that significantly defined the TV landscape in both divided and reunited Germany.

Digital technology now also allows for more active forms of TV criticism. You can immerse yourself in a 360-degree scene or even “wander” through a film on your own. The “Zeittunnel” (time tunnel), the TV exhibit’s experimental lab, presents examples of this futuristic technology.

Televsion Focus

“Television Focus” presents curated programs from our Television Media Library. The broadcasts are available for screening even after Mediathek presentations have concluded.
