In 2026, the film was digitized in 3K resolution under the supervision of the Deutsche Kinemathek and restored in 2K at the Basis Berlin Postproduktion company, using as its source material the original Super 16mm negative and the ZDF broadcast soundtrack on 16mm magnetic tape. The digitization was funded by the German Film Heritage Program (FFE).

is a Berlin-based film restorer, researcher and curator specializing in early and experimental cinema. She holds a degree in film studies from the Freie Universität Berlin and in film preservation from The L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation in Rochester, USA. Since 2017, she has worked at the Deutsche Kinemathek, currently as a film restorer in the German Film Heritage Program (FFE). Matzke has presented film series at venues including the Anthology Film Archives in New York, the Harvard Film Archive, the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montrealand TIFF Lightbox in Toronto. She is the editor of the first Dore O. monograph and, in her free time, writes on experimental cinema.

studied film at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). Working as a writer, director and producer, and occasionally as a cinematographer, he has collaborated on 15 feature-length films, including fiction, essay and documentary films, as well as numerous shorts, music videos and animations. Projects he has worked on have won prizes including the Special Jury Award at the 1988 World Film Festival in Montreal, the OCIC Award (1993), the New Berlin Film Award (2008) and the Underground Spirit Award (2009); in 2014, he won the Lifetime Award at the International Music Documentary Film Festival in Croatia. His work has been shown at venues including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) London, the Louvre in Paris, the Haus der Kunst in Munich and documenta 14 in Kassel. Schueppel has curated and co-curated various festival programs, served on international juries and has been a member of the European Film Academy (EFA) since 2002.
