This is the international premiere of the restored version. The 4K restoration was undertaken in 2026 at L’Immagine Ritrovata Laboratory from the original negative, supervised by director Ana Díez and cinematographer Gonzalo F. Berridi. It was funded by the Basque public broadcaster Euskal Irrati Telebista (EITB) and the Euskadiko Filmategia Fundazioa (the Basque Film Archive), under the auspices of the Basque government.

graduated in 2010 with a degree in film studies from the University of Udine in Italy before undertaking an internship at the Austrian Film Museum in Vienna. In 2011, she moved to Spain where she has worked with various institutions, including setting up the Filmoteca de Navarra archive in Pamplona and lecturing at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE) in Donostia/San Sebastián. In 2017, she joined the Basque Film Archive in Donostia/San Sebastián where she currently oversees the audiovisual collection and works as a project manager.

was born in 1957 in Tudela, Spain. After graduating in medicine, she moved to Mexico and pivoted to filmmaking. She returned to Spain to work as an assistant director until 1988, when she directed her first feature film, ‘Ander eta Yul’ (1988), which won the Goya Award for Best New Director. She later transitioned into television directing and taught at film schools. In 1997, she made the feature film ‘Todo está oscuro’ (1997). In 2002, she premiered the documentary ‘Galíndez’ at San Sebastián; she returned to fiction with ‘Paisito’ in 2008 and ‘A quien cierra los ojos’ in 2022. Díez is also a co-founder of the Asociación de Mujeres Cineastas y de Medios Audiovisuales (CIMA), the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media.
