FRG 1985, director: Wolfgang Tumler

Divided Berlin

In the 1950s and 1960s, the division of Germany was regarded as a "cash poison" in the FRG and West Berlin and was avoided by commercial film production. Television filled this gap.
In the political thriller Hart an der Grenze, great politics are linked with a fictional story: in 1971, a haggard reporter investigates a case with a mysterious corpse. Since the matter endangers the imminent conclusion of the Four Power Agreement on Berlin, the reporter encounters many obstacles.
